Universal Horror Remakes
Rating:
Remakes in general are lame. When the Originals are a bit lame, there can be trouble when it comes to Re-Making them. Universal could do no wrong during the 1930s. 3 Frankensteins, 2 Draculas, 1 Mummy, 1 Invisible Man. Classics All. But things soon changed. Universal hit a Creativity wall after 1939. That was the year of Son of Frankenstein. From that point on, they could come up with no new ideas. The Wolfman was good, but hardly groundbreaking. I was never really impressed by the original. The next film in that series was Frankenstein meets the Wolfman. Don't get me wrong. I loved this film and all of the Universal Horror films, but I can't help thinking how good they could have been if they had had some good writers with some real Ideas.
As for the new Wolf Man, it looks very good. Maybe they can get a good flick out of the old script.
